Stockport Homes Group

In 2019, Stockport Homes achieved three star ‘extraordinary’ Best Companies accreditation and were recognised as one of Britain’s best employers for the tenth consecutive year running by the Sunday Times newspaper. We are the third Best Not-For-Profit Organisation to work for in the Sunday Times Top 100 list for 2019 (Number one in the Best Companies Top 25 Housing Organisations to Work for) and have also achieved Platinum Investors in People status for our approach to people management and development.

We are a values driven organisation committed to achieving our mission of ‘One team, transforming lives’, but we’re also entrepreneurial, maximising the value of our money and resources.

Our Key Workers provide a single point of contact, and work with vulnerable people to explore their strengths, and networks of support through a guided conversation.  Their overall aim is to improve the wellbeing, resilience and independence of people living in Stockport and to reduce, delay or prevent people from accessing formal or statutory services.

Assisting people to find their own solutions and co-developing personal plans to motivate people to achieve their goals and improve their wellbeing and independence, you will provide advice, guidance, and challenge to build resilience, in order to ensure that people have networks in place to self-manage and live independently for the future.

Essentially, you will help individuals to recognise their strengths and build their confidence, providing a holistic approach to achieve long term solutions and identifying and reporting any Safeguarding concerns.

Previous experience of working with vulnerable people to achieve positive outcomes is essential and you must be capable of delivering a person led, strengths-based approach.  Confident in the use of IT systems and solutions and of lone working with people in their homes and community locations, candidates should have experience of developing personal plans and of identifying safeguarding concerns.  Due to the nature of the role, you must have the ability to travel independently with access to a vehicle insured for work purposes and with a full driving licence.

26 hours per week – hours of work are flexible and can be discussed at interview – Fixed Term Contract Until 31st May 2020

Closing Date: 22nd October

Interview Date: 28th October

All posts offer attractive conditions of service and a range of employee benefits including a commitment to personal development, work life balance and a genuine commitment to embrace diversity for employees and customers.

Stockport Homes Group is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates regardless of sex, race, disability, age, sexual orientation, gender reassignment, religion or belief, marital status, or pregnancy and maternity.
