Full Time, 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

Foundations was set up as a charitable arm of The Stockport Homes Group and they are now looking to recruit an Offender Outreach Officer to work with offenders in custody to secure appropriate accommodation prior to release so that the risk of reoffending is reduced.

Working in Stockport, you will engage with people who are offenders in custody to develop intensive and holistic support plans, enabling offenders to address issues, including accommodation, health and wellbeing. Developing positive relationships with offenders, in particular female offenders, whilst in custody, to achieve positive outcomes upon release and whilst living in the community.

With a resilient and motivational approach, you will need to work flexibly, often outside of usual office hours to locate and maintain relationships with people, coupled with holding a driving licence as the role will work across multiple locations in Stockport and Trafford.

Candidates should have practical experience and knowledge of the issues and barriers facing offenders leaving custody and reintegrating back into the community, with an understanding of Prison Probation Services. You will demonstrate excellent organisational and time management skills, produce reports, presenting with minimal supervision. With strong interpersonal skills, you will identify and bring together key specialist partners and will build enduring relationships, be an advocate for change to existing barriers for service users and deliver a high quality service to offenders.
