Why choose a career in housing?
Housing is known for its stability, even during tough economic times.
Right now, the government is funding the construction of hundreds of thousands of new social homes each year due to the housing crisis. This shows that the housing sector needs more people to join and stay in the industry.
The jobs fair will feature a wide range of opportunities, including apprenticeships, graduate positions, and both full-time and part-time roles.
Attendees can explore various options suited to different qualification levels, with some positions, like apprenticeships for school leavers, requiring no prior qualifications.
Inside Housing, a supporter of the Jobs Fair, has just launched its Housing Hires campaign to further promote the social housing sector as a place to work and support people to find and develop careers with housing associations and councils.
You could play a part in finding solutions to create healthy, environmentally friendly homes for everyone and be the next generation of talent in the sector.

Housing providers do more than just build homes – they also have a social mission. They work with others to improve services and opportunities for tenants, including those who are most vulnerable.
With government funding focused on constructing thousands of new social homes annually, numerous housing organisations in Manchester and Greater Manchester will participate in the Housing 2024 Jobs Fair.
The aim is to attract and nurture fresh talent. Successful candidates will get the opportunity to contribute to the sector’s efforts to achieve its net zero targets, leading the charge in the environmental revolution. They will also assist residents who are most in need.
Moreover, the housing sector is dedicated to combating climate change by swiftly decarbonising homes on a large scale.
Employees in this sector may play a crucial role in devising practical solutions for delivering eco-friendly and affordable housing to everyone.
Additionally, they will work towards improving outcomes for the most vulnerable tenants and residents throughout the region.
