Greater Manchester housing providers lead partnership awarded £1.8m to tackle entrenched rough sleeping

Up to 200 of Greater Manchester’s most entrenched rough sleepers will be helped off the streets and supported to build a new life by a partnership made up of Greater Manchester housing providers, private rented sector partners, social investment partners and voluntary sector delivery partners, which has today been awarded a £1.8m Social Impact Bond (SIB) to deliver long-term change for some of the region’s most vulnerable homeless people. Greater Manchester Housing Providers come together to celebrate Starts At Home Day

Housing Providers in Greater Manchester are highlighting the contribution supported housing makes to vulnerable residents as part of today’s Starts at Home day. Starts at Home, now in its second year and run by the National Housing Federation. Anti-poverty pledges 2017

In May 2014 we first set out our commitment to alleviate and reduce poverty amongst our customers and in our communities. Our pledges responded to and built upon the recommendations made by the Greater Manchester Poverty Commission and covered five priority themes; financial inclusion, fuel poverty, food poverty, digital inclusion and employment & skills. In January 2017 we refreshed our pledges, building on the five existing themes and making a commitment on two additional themes; social value and housing supply. We collectively pledge to support, promote, continue and implement a range of activities that help us address these priorities. We are making a commitment to act both individually and collectively, both within the housing sector and in partnership with others. (more…)
