The newly published 20% Movement Annual Review 2025/26 highlights how Greater Manchester Housing Providers are working together to boost economic productivity, create meaningful employment opportunities and build a more representative workforce.
The Movement’s ambition is for 20% of the housing workforce to be made up of social housing tenants by 2034, helping organisations better reflect the communities they serve while opening pathways into high-quality careers.
The report showcases a range of successful initiatives, including collaborative careers events that engaged more than 435 residents, tenant talent pools, supported employment pathways and innovative peer navigator programmes. These initiatives are helping to tackle barriers to employment, raise aspirations and attract people with valuable lived experience into the housing sector.
By creating a balanced workforce that combines professional expertise with first-hand community insight, Greater Manchester Housing Providers are strengthening services, improving customer understanding and supporting inclusive economic growth across the region.
