Diversity, inclusion and representation: the Greater Manchester DICE Report

We are very proud that inclusion continues to be the very foundation for GMHP’s work across our incredibly diverse region, writes Sasha Deepwell, CEO, Irwell Valley.

The third Greater Manchester DICE (Diversity, Inclusion, Community Cohesion and Equalities) Report highlights the progress housing providers are making to improve diversity, inclusion and representation across the sector, while identifying key areas where further action is needed.

The DICE report shows a housing sector that is increasingly diverse and actively working to improve inclusion, with organisations taking forward targeted initiatives and shared learning through the DICE Group.

However, the findings also identify persistent gaps, particularly in senior leadership representation, where ethnicity, disability and age remain under-represented compared with the wider workforce and customer base. The report also identifies ongoing challenges with the completeness and consistency of diversity data, which limits the ability to fully track progress and benchmark outcomes across organisations.

Despite these issues, the report evidences growing collaboration across the sector, with providers using shared data, peer learning and focused interventions to drive improvement. Overall, it demonstrates both measurable progress and the scale of work still required to ensure leadership and services fully reflect the diverse communities served across Greater Manchester.
